In order for us to not burn out we need to pace ourselves, and that pace comes from planning a week that is sustainable. James McMullen from Eastside Christian Church in Anaheim, CA will talk about the processes they have developed to handle their weekend services across several campuses.
Nearly every church around the world is doing ministry digitally in some form or another. It is important that we remain engaged with our growing ministries and teammates as we continue into the future of digital ministry. In this class, you will learn how to collaborate with volunteers effectively, how to create an engaging online experience and how to stay connected with your teams through it all.
2020 has brought a lot of new challenges. For a large church like Ada Bible, the transition to fully being and completely online church wasn’t a difficult pivot for us. But, most churches in our area, especially urban churches in economically challenged areas, were struggling to get services online, to adapt. Our church saw this as an opportunity, a new mission field, and we were able to resource, train, equip, mentor and encourage many churches in our region. That work still continues today. How might we (technical and production folks) help the message of Jesus be shared (more), by sharing our expereince, skills and resources with other churches? One of the fruits I have expereinced is witnessing some of the demonitional, and mega-church/small church walls being broken down as we work together to share the truth of who Jesus is…what we have in common, Jesus, is overcoming the things that seperate us.
In a ministry world that often demands more and more and more, what would happen if we applied ancient rhythms of rest to our lives, jobs, passions and ministry. Together we’ll discover the way that slowing down and resting can actually make everything else we do better, more effective and more sustainable…including our weekend services.
From buying gear and building spaces to hiring staff and travelling to places – this talk is sure to help you strengthen your “why” before you pitch it to your leadership. The workshop will include tried and tested techniques and tools that will help you better communicate, which will then help convince your leader so you can carry out the big vision God has given you and your team.
